Juvenile Arrests for Possession CDS

On January 21, 2010 at approximately 3:37 pm, The Thurmont Police department received an anonymous complaint of drug activity occurring behind a home on West Hammaker Street in Thurmont. As OFC Fitzgerald and Lt. Droneburg approached the area OFC Fitzgerald located four male subjects congregating in a wooded area behind a home. All subjects were detained and identified. The subjects were 16 and 17 years of age. Upon further investigation OFC Fitzgerald discovered the one 17 year old male was in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana packaged in separate small packets indicative of distribution. This subject was arrested and transported the TPD. One of the 16 year old males was in possession of a CDS smoking device fashion as a pipe containing a small amount of suspected marijuana. This subject was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession CDS Paraphernalia and immediately released to the custody of his grandmother. The 17 year old was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession with Intent to Distribute CDS. The Department of Juvenile Services was notified and authorized the detainment of the 17 year old male at the Finan Center in Cumberland Maryland until a hearing is scheduled.
