Juveniles arrested -marijuana distribution on school property

On Monday, January 25, 2010 at approximately 0305pm, Sergeant McLoughlin and Officer DeBord of the Thurmont Police Department responded to the area of Catoctin Avenue/Dogwood Avenue, Thurmont, MD for an anonymous complaint of drug activity in the area. Upon arrival Sergeant McLoughlin and Officer DeBord observed four 15 year old male juveniles who matched the description the caller had provided. All the juveniles were detained, identified and located within 1,000 feet of a secondary school zone. Upon further investigation, Office DeBord discovered one of the juveniles was in possession of marijuana packaged individually indicative of distribution/resale. Sergeant McLoughlin discovered marijuana and two CDS smoking devices on a second juvenile. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Thurmont Police Department for processing. One juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana, possession w/intent to distribute on school property. The second juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. Both juveniles were released to the custody of their parents.
