Thurmont High Class of ‘63 Donates to Food Bank Larry Freshman

Again this year the Thurmont High School Class of 1963 has made a donation to the Thurmont Food Bank. This year’s contribution was $885.00. The members of the Class of ‘63 happily remember out wonderful childhood days in Thurmont. We fondly recall some of the wonderful places in Thurmont such as the Dixie Diner, Hershey’s 5&dime store, Royers Restaurant and Dominque’s Ice Cream Parlor. Today all are just precious memories. We realize that remembrances are much more than mortar and brick. It was the people of Thurmont we encountered on our journey to adulthood which provided us with knowledge, friendship and caring. They furnished us with a lasting keepsake of our youth. We were raised in a community that helped its own in time of need.

With those ideals instilled in us we wish to give back those who currently need our help. No matter if our members stayed in the area or moved far away, Thurmont will always have a special place in our hearts. Classmates making donations are: George Ambrose, Morris Baker, Bob Benjamin, John Bollinger, Nancy May Caudill, Marvin Cregger, Belva Dinterman, Larry Freshman, Vivian Hauver Gladhill, Dave Glass, Judy Fox Harbaugh, Betty Harbaugh Kelly, Beverly Weagley Hessong, Shirley Warner Long, Joann Miller, Richard Naylor, Ed Orndorff, Carolyn Pearcey Sexton, Lewis Shapiro, Linda Rayfield Skewes, Charles Smith, Sally Baugher Spencer, Paul Toms, Roger Troxell and Shelby Eyler Wangness.
